4 year starter in Basketball for
Booker T. Washington
Led his team to a National Black High School
Boys Championship in 1946 where he was selected as an All-American, and the only MVP of the Tournament.
His team’s 4 year record was 180 wins and 8 losses.

1953-1956 (Football, Basketball, Baseball, Track)

Professional Boxing Record of 45 wins and 11 losses
Kelly boxed Bob Foster for the Light-Heavyweight
Championship of the World in 1973.

For outstanding accomplishment, exemplifying the highest standards of sportsmanship, ethical conduct, and moral character, and for his outstanding record.
His Booker T. Washington teams won 2
National High School Black Basketball
Championships (1946, 1951),
and they won 8 Class C State
Championships,
and 6 All Class State
Championships in Basketball.


Jim Frisbie

Service/Contributor Inductee

For outstanding contribution to Cushing Athletics
Jim Frisbie was the director of the Cushing Youth Center from 1983 until his death in 1996.  He was a natural born mentor and was extremely dedicated to the many young athletes who came through the various programs he worked so long and hard to establish and
maintain at the Youth Center.




Bill Ricks

For outstanding contribution to Cushing Athletics
As sports editor of the Cushing Daily Citizen Bill Ricks followed all the sporting events in Cushing from grade school through high school for 26 years.  Because of his wide knowledge of sports and his passion for the events and the young athletes who participated, he was very much appreciated and loved by the community.

PURPOSE

The Cushing High School Athletic Hall of Fame has been set up to honor the many individuals who have been instrumental in establishing and maintaining the “Tiger Tradition” of excellence.  The Hall of Fame is to establish pride in the accomplishments of these individuals who are worthy of recognition as examples for others to emulate.

NOMINATION PROCESS

Completed nomination forms may be submitted by anyone to the Cushing Athletic Department by the May 1st deadline.    All nominations received must contain the current address and contact information for the nominee (or family if deceased).  Failure to supply all information on the nomination form will void the nomination.

SELECTION COMMITTEE 

The selection committee will be made up of seven members.  The seven member committee will be made up of the Cushing High School Athletic Director, Cushing Public School administrator, a retired coach, and four former graduates of Cushing High School.  The four CHS alumni members should have a strong knowledge of Cushing Athletics.

SELECTION PROCESS

The Hall of Fame selection committee will review all nomination forms individually.  After a review of the nomination forms the committee will vote for selection.

PRESENTATION PROCESS 

The Hall of Fame recipient will be announced during the alumni weekend, and will later be presented a plaque at halftime of a home football game, which will be permanently displayed in the Cushing High School Fieldhouse.
